Motherhood Will Humble You

Some of these might sound familiar to you

  • “Wow, you have your hands full”

  • “I don't know how you do it”

  • “You must never sleep!”

  • “How many kids do you have?!”

  • “Well, you chose to be a mother"

How do these statements make you feel? Not how do you react, but how do you feel

I am sure many of us roll our eyes. Some of us get anxious. Most of us probably just smile or laugh.

But it's kind of true right? You have your hands full, sometimes you don't know how you are doing it, did it or will do it, and many times you do not get the sleep you need

Now take a deep breath . . . . and let's talk about Monarch Butterflies for a few sentences. We ARE the Super Generation Monarch Butterflies. They migrate up to 3,000 miles to Mexico! That's hundreds of miles every single week with the constant threat of being eaten or killed. But they do it anyways and they continue the life cycle of these amazing insects- a crucial part of many ecosystems.

We are equally important to the continuation of our own generations to come! How can we expect our children to be successful and happy if WE aren't successful and happy? Well, you could say they can learn from your mistakes.

But is that what you want? .

I feel like I always hear “balance is key” but who is teaching us how to balance it all? With rising costs, pressure to have nice things and so much going on in the world, where is that balance?

I’m right there with you- soaking in the chaos of motherhood and family life and trying to “figure it all out” but I want to journey WITH you. I want to hold hands and figure out how we get through this damn thing called motherhood and come out a successful entrepreneur!

I want you to feel loved.

I want you to feel happy.

I want you to feel successful.

I want you to feel fulfilled.

Motherhood will humble you in every single way you can imagine.

Society has also made us feel like we cannot be successful, so why would you want to?

You work a 9-5, but your entire check is the price of childcare.

You get a 2nd job but maybe now have to pay a babysitter.

You quit your job to be a stay-at-home-mom and now you are looked down on (not always) and sometimes it is not even because your family can AFFORD to but it is because childcare is MORE than you would make.

Many of us don't have a village.

And then you are home with your children, feeling trapped in ways you don't want to admit because then you would be complaining or you might get comments like

“You chose to be a mom”

Yes, maybe you did or maybe it was a surprise, but that doesn't NEGATE you being happy, loved and successful! That shouldn't take away YOUR right to be who you want to be.

Motherhood can make you tired, hungry and feeling hopeless at times . . . even if you do not want to admit it.

Motherhood can leave you feeling empty even if your children are the greatest joys you have ever had.

I am here to tell you that is okay.

You are ALLOWED to show up tired, hungry and hopeless.

You are ALLOWED to want more.

You are ALLOWED to help yourself be the mom and entrepreneur YOU want to be.

You are ALLOWED to build your life the way you want to build it.

Let's work on that journey together as moms AND entrepreneurs!
